The two year post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management is a master level program facilitating the learning and application of concepts, techniques, and practices in the management of human resources in addition to exposing the student to different functional areas of management to enhance the effectiveness. Being a specialized program in itself, there are no separate areas for concentration.
The PGDHRM program is delivered online with 1 week of immersion per year at XLRI Jamshedpur during term I and term VI.

Fresh graduates will get more opportunities to learn from the experienced XLRI faculty as well as industry experts and can also interact with very diverse group of participants over an interactive online platform which monitor their learning as well as performance progression during the course.

The course pedagogy involves lectures, case analysis and discussions, hands on exercises, simulations, personal reflections, role plays, tutorials, and peer-to-peer learning through group work.
Online sessions are held on both weekends and on Thursdays from 6.30 PM - 9.45 PM. In addition to these contact hours mostly led by the faculty members of XLRI, the program offers you opportunities for systematic peer learning through flexible interactive hours scheduled on Sunday morning (11.30 am - 01.00 pm) and Tuesday evenings (8.00 -9.30 PM). You will be working in groups in a monitored platform provided by the institute and groups are allowed to shift the timings of these interactions to any slot convenient to members increasing flexibility of the program. In addition, participants are also offered tutorial assistance on Monday and Friday (from 8.00 -10.00 PM) that can be availed by members on need basis.
The PGDHRM is a specialised program that prepares students to updated and wide range of Human Resource related themes focusing on people issues of organizations. Enrolled students will have opportunities of availing career guidance from faculty and Placement Office, including connecting with XLRI's global alumni network. Besides, the regular speaker sessions involving senior corporate executives will give students opportunities for interactions. We encourage fresh graduates enrolled for the program to use the networks both within the batch and outside to get enrolled for various internship opportunities during the course period to enhance practical exposure and professional abilities. Ultimately, of course, your job prospects would depend on the skills and expertise you gain in the specialised courses and the engaging relationships you develop during the program.
The course plan involves 747 hours of basic and advanced courses across term one to six. You need to visit XLRI Jamshedpur for two campus immersion experiences of five days (term I & term VI) to interact with the faculty members, your peer group, batchmates and others assisted/going to assist you during this lifetime opportunity.
In addition to these 747 hours, participants are expected to spend 210 hours at group level to attend Flexible Interactive Hours (FIH) to complete experiential exercises, class assignments and activities, application exercises, simulations, solving a case in groups, working on a project etc. as per the course outline. Program also offers 288 hours of scheduled tutorial hours spread across the year to provide support to the needy ones on a continuous basis. In addition to these 1245 hours designed and delivered form XLRI, participants are expected to invest 1155 hours as Indicative Self Learning Hours in the form of pre-readings, assignments & individual reflections, individual exercises, e-texts, self-assessment etc. across all courses depending on personal strengths and weaknesses.

The program is taught by experienced fulltime faculty of XLRI - Xavier School of Management, select faculty from overseas as well as experienced industry professionals.
The fee for the Program is Rs. 14 lakhs, paid over 4 instalments as follows
The fees include the cost of textbooks, reading materials, library resources , accommodation and boarding during the two mandatory campus immersion programs at Jamshedpur but exclude the travel and related costs.
To ensure diversity of the participants, the following scholarships amount shall be adjusted from the total fees. A candidate can avail any two scholarships for women candidate, ST/SC candidate and Tier II &Tier III location.

Participants shall be awarded the “Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (Online)” upon successfully meeting the academic requirements of the program as set by the Academic Council of XLRI Jamshedpur.
